About the Czech Republic
THE CZECH REPUBLIC (10 milion inhabitants) is very "young" state. The republic was bom after the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic had divided January 1,1993 however. Its traditions, have its origin in former Czechoslovakia, well known in the world. As an example we can name Škoda Plzeň, Tatra Kopřivnice (Rallye ParisDakar), Pilsen Prazdroj, Budvar from České Budějovice.

Sometimes the Czech Republic is called "The heart of Europe", because is really situated in its centre. Its neighbours are west - Germany, south - Austria, east - Slovakia and north - Poland. The climate is moderate, with hot summer and frosty winters. The capital of Czech Republic is Prague, called "the town of hundred towers" with its dominating feature - Hradčany and the Prague Castle - seat of president and well known S. Vit's Cathedral - crypt of Czech kings. There are many historical monuments, castles and maisons in the Czech Republic, as well as hundreds of lakes, rivers, large forests, mountains and lowlands.
